At EFKON STRABAG, our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) is integral to our mission and values. We believe that businesses have a pivotal role to play in shaping a safer and more equitable society. One of the cornerstone initiatives of our CSR program is our dedicated effort to raise awareness about road safety.
Road safety is a critical issue in today’s fast-paced world. With the increasing number of vehicles on the roads, ensuring the safety of all road users—drivers, passengers, cyclists, and pedestrians—has never been more important. At EFKON STRABAG, we are passionate about contributing to this cause and making a tangible difference.
CSR Initiatives
Road Safety Awareness Program with IIT Roorkee - 2024
Recognizing the need to instill responsible road behavior from a young age, EFKON STRABAG has partnered with IIT Roorkee to launch a comprehensive Road Safety Awareness Program for children. The initiative, launched in April 2024, is geared towards educating and empowering young minds to make informed decisions on the road. Through interactive sessions, stage plays, and engaging activities, we aim to equip school children with the necessary skills to navigate roadways safely. This collaborative effort seeks to reduce accidents among youth and promote a culture of responsible road usage.
Through these initiatives and partnerships, EFKON STRABAG remains dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve, ensuring a safer and more sustainable future for all.
Road Safety Awareness Program with Matri Sudha - 2024
EFKON STRABAG, in collaboration with the Maitri Sudha program, proudly organized two impactful road safety awareness events at primary schools in Delhi, focusing on educating young minds about the importance of road safety. The initiative aimed to instill essential road safety habits in children from a young age, promoting a safer environment for everyone.
The interactive sessions included engaging presentations, practical demonstrations, and lively discussions about road safety rules, pedestrian safety, and the significance of traffic signals. A highlight of the program was the distribution of specially designed coloring books on road safety. These books serve as an educational tool, combining fun and learning, allowing children to color while absorbing vital safety messages. The children eagerly participated, showcasing their creativity while gaining valuable knowledge on staying safe on the roads.

Nukkad Natak: Promoting Road Safety - 2024
The Nukkad Natak is part of a comprehensive Road Safety Awareness program initiated by EFKON-STRABAG, focusing on promoting road safety education and cultivating a culture of responsible behaviour among young learners.
Road Safety Awareness Program - 2023
EFKON STRABAG, in collaboration with the Sashakt Foundation, has launched a comprehensive Road Safety Awareness aimed at reducing road accidents through education and community engagement. India, with the world’s largest road network and a rapidly growing population, faces significant challenges related to road safety, exacerbated by poor infrastructure and low awareness of traffic rules.
Center of Excellence for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) at DTU
EFKON STRABAG India engaged with Delhi Technological University (DTU) to set up a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to build know-how and skillset in next-generation engineers and entrepreneurs to provide solutions unique to the Indian traffic conditions. The proposed CoE is one of the first of its kind, Industry-Academia collaborations in India. It will also impart experiential learning to DTU students on real-life traffic situations, enabling the university to become a leading research enabler in the niche ITS domain.
EFKON STRABAG will contribute to the installation and maintenance of CoE and will be responsible for all costs related to the provisioning, supply, installation, and maintenance of the equipment. We will also support research scholars working on joint research. EFKON India will set up a server in the CoE ITS Lab space (provided by DTU) to facilitate the computational workload of the research projects at the CoE ITS.
PROJECT DRIVESAFE
EFKON STRABAG launched DRIVESAFE, a CSR initiative in collaboration with schools in Delhi NCR. The initiative aimed to educate children about the significance of traffic safety rules. We designed and conceptualized a unique sketchbook depicting over 15 traffic safety scenarios in India. This initiative proved to be a fun learning activity for kids, allowing them to learn about traffic rules while coloring the sketchbooks. Additionally, skit enactments on the same theme served as supporting activities that further reinforced the idea.
