Agra Metro
The Agra Metro project stands as a beacon of modernization and progress for the historic city of Agra, renowned globally for the magnificent Taj Mahal. Designed to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce pollution, and provide efficient transportation solutions, the Agra Metro is poised to revolutionize the city’s transit landscape, enhancing the daily commute for residents and the experience for tourists visiting the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Agra, a city with significant historical and cultural importance, faced severe traffic congestion, high pollution levels, and inefficient transportation systems. The existing infrastructure struggled to cope with the growing population and tourist influx, leading to long travel times, environmental degradation, and compromised quality of life for residents.
UPMRC partnered with EFKON STRABAG to address theses issues. EFKON STRABAG played a crucial role in the Agra Metro project, particularly in the Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Tunnel Ventilation Systems (TVS), and Building Management Systems (BMS). Our expertise ensured the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of these systems, which are integral to the metro’s operation. This collaboration has been pivotal in enhancing passenger comfort, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Our honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated the priority corridor of the Agra Metro Rail Project on 6th March 2024, which aims to connect the UNESCO World Heritage sites including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Sikandra Tomb, for tourists. While the trial run for the priority section has been accomplished, work on the remaining four stations is advancing rapidly, with construction efforts operating at high speed.
