The systems were successfully demonstrated to key officials at NOIDA in the presence of national media. This expressway was built to improve the connectivity between upcoming important industrial town of Noida & Greater Noida in the national capital of India. There are more than 70,000 vehicles passing through this expressway.
  • Since its inception in 2002, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway has been the site of hundreds of road accidents caused due to speeding, unauthorized parked vehicle and vehicles travelling in the reverse direction. Moreover, this expressway is considered unsafe at night due to anti social elements.

A total of 93 closed-circuit television cameras have been installed on the 23.6 km stretch providing 24x7 live coverage. There are 24 Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras proving speed details along with alerts in case a stolen vehicle is seem on this expressway. There are 15 Video Incident Detection cameras that raise an alarm when a vehicle is found to be parked on the expressway and seen travelling in the reverse direction.

In the event of an accident or an incident, a rescue vehicle is immediately sent to save precious lives and clear the traffic. There are 24 emergency call boxes from where road uses can connect to the control room in the event of an emergency or when they are looking for directions or information on amenities. The expressway will be under surveillance 24/7 which will also help curb crime on the expressway.

Another important feature of this system is a mobile application that gives road users live information of any incidents on the highway along with the nearest amenities such as hospital, petrol pump, police station etc. There is a facility of hot dial on the mobile application to directly connect to the control room.

There are 13 large display units (VMS) on the expressway to inform the road users about the traffic condition, traffic rules and weather conditions.
